Paper Commercial

http://youtube.com/watch?v=nI2y4s3vzgk- Commercial
I have seen very funny commercials in my day, and I will say this one ranks up at the top. This lucky guy was leaving the copy machine when this fine young lady walked past to go use the copier. The guy soon then realizes that he had forgot something by the copier and turns around to go back and get it. He walked in to see the lady knelt down on top of the copier trying to reach some more paper up above the machine. While she was knelt she hit the copy button with her knee, but the bad part was she was wearing a skirt. The copier was spiting out copies of this and the guy went to grab his stuff, but in reality got her stuff! I think is a very funny commercial because of the way this guy reacts to this. He just grabbed the paper and looked at it and his mouth dropped and so did the paper.

The audio in this commercial makes it pretty funny also, it is almost like a suductive music. The music really sets the mood of the commercial. I am sure if you put in someother music, like for example: Hard Rock or Metal, it would have not really set the mood wanted for the commercial. The music on there now is just perfect for the commercial.

Dodge Commercial

I watched a Dodge commercial where two friends walked into the bathroom to go pee and both went into the urinals next to eachother and started talking about his thing he just got and how it handles great and how it is now 7 inches longer. It also will earn him respect and his girlfriend loves it and this whole time this other guy is sitting in a stall while these two talk about this and his really wondering what is going on and what are they talking about. What he doesn't know is that they are talking about the new Dodge truck he just bought and how nice it handles and whatever. The guy in the stall was really freaking out about two guys talking about a new truck. This commercial took place obviously in the bathroom, but the lighting and point of view was perfect because it did not allow the guy in the stall to see that the whole time they were talking about this they were looking at a picture of it. So it made it look like the guy was really looking at something inappropriate. I got a kick out of this commercial. I thought it was very funny and kind of wonder why it got banned, because I kind of liked it.

Banned Mastercard Commercial

http://youtube.com/watch?v=nb3mshCWmgA

I watched a Mastercard commercial that was banned from the air for a good reason, but the commercial was still very funny. I really had no idea what was going to be so "priceless" but it turned out to be pretty funny for how slow it started for being a mastercard commercial. The lighting of the commercial set the mood of the commercial pretty good by being late at night, just coming home from a date. The commercial was constructed pretty well, but you really kind of have to have a interesting sense of humor for this commercial. It was banned for a good reason that is for sure. The man is dropping her off from a date and asked for a favor and she said no because her parents might see or catch them. Then he kept begging and finally a bit later the porch light turns on and her sister opens the door and said "for god sakes dad said to just do it already or I will or if he has to he will come down and do it!" and she also told him to take his arm off the intercom. So this whole time everyone in the house was listening to all of this going on and finally they got sick of listening to it. I thought the commercial was pretty funny, but this fits my type of sense of humor.

Close Analysis: Funny Captain Commercial

Visual- Bar, phone, dark bar lighting, talking on a phone and with each other, eating, blender, alcohol, and woman at wedding.

Sounds- Jukebox music, talking, laughing, cell phone ring, blender, faking T.V. shows like the news, golf, tai bo, comedy show, and animal planet.

Key Questions-

#1- Captain Morgan Rum created the message to sell their alcohol.

#2- They use faking T.V. shows to get the guy out of trouble with his girlfriend, because he didn't want to go with her to her cousin's wedding, so he faked sick and when she called the whole bar got in on faking T.V. shows to make her think he is at home. The catch line was at the end saying "they have a little Captain in them, do you have a little Captain in you?" That is a pretty good catch phrase.

#3- I have not had to really expierence this ever yet, for one I can't go to the bars. I also have never really had to lie to my girlfriend about where I was before, so I can't really relate here. The closest I have come to something like this is where I would be talking to someone and they all would fake doing something just to mess with them, but never to lie to them.

#4- Lifestyles in this commercial are mainly middle class, but probably some upper lower class people. Anything really but upper class were in there really. I imagine most of them value things like alcohol, because he skipped his girlfriend's cousin's wedding to go to the bar with friends, so he probably values his friends also. There are many points of view in this commercial.

#5- This commercial was constructed to humor people and give them a laugh about Captain Morgan, and how the guy lies to his girlfriend to get away with not going to the wedding. I thought it was pretty funny.

Dentyne Ice Commerical

http://youtube.com/watch?v=kMCxZvHYTVg - Commerical

When I first seen this commercial I was a bit confused to begin with because I wasn't quite sure where it was going, but in the end it was pretty funny. The man in the commercial was looking to kiss the girl, so he wanted to have good breath and ended eating to many of the frostbites and froze his head, and scared not only the girl, but the taxi driver too. This commercial was advertising to all age groups really except for the really young, because I am sure young ones are not able to buy gum and what not yet. Anyone could really go out and buy the gum. I thought the commercial was pretty entertaining and different. The whole head falling off into the lady's lap was quite interesting but funny. It was a bit slow to begin with but toward the end it became funny and turned out to be a pretty good commercial. The only thing that I think could have maybe helped the commercial was to add some catchy music in the background or something to draw my attenion closer because the beginning almost lost my attenion with how slow it started.

Most Dominate Athlete Ever?

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLKXvGE6kN8 - 16th hole at the Masters in 2005

Espn is questioning if Tiger Woods is the most dominating athlete ever to do what he/she does. Micheal Wilbon, an Espn host, said that he is knee deep in that category, but not quite there, then again he does have a long ways to go while Tiger is only 31, and in golf that is just your prime age. Tiger Woods has won 8 of his 9 World Championship Events and finished tied for 2nd in the only won he didn't win. He also has won 4 straight PGA Tour events and 6 of the last 7 while winning 5 straight official tournaments around the world. The game's #1 player continued his domination in record fashion, defeating Stewert Cink 8 and 7 in the 36-hole final at the Gallery Golf Club. It was his 15th victory in 26 World Golf Championship tournaments, an incredible success rate when you consider the fields typically are filled with no less then the top 50 players in the world rankings. Espn could go on and on about Tiger's successes, and he is still got alot of golf left in his life and I do believe when he is done he will have shattered alot of the records that have been set. At this pace that Tiger is at no one will compete with his records or success. You look at Micheal Jordan who is the "greatest basketball player to ever play the game" and you look at Muhammad Ali who also is the best boxer ever to box. Now you look at Tiger Woods and with the pace he is at he will soon be known has the best golfer to ever play the game.

Kelvin Sampson's Mistake

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=gXgbCtOEzGQ - Indiana President's Statement
Kelvin Sampson is the former head coach of Indiana University. He was the coach until earlier this year NCAA officials found out about his extra phone calls used in recruiting. NCAA only allows so many calls during recuiting and Kelvin Sampson over did it. The problem with this is that this is not his first time being caught. He got in the same type of trouble at Oklahoma and that is the reason he got fired from over there and now he did it again and got fired here. Kelvin told ESPN he did not do it this time, but ESPN pretty much told him it is almost impossible to believe that considering this is his second offense for the samething. Indiana University after finding this out offered Kelvin Sampson a $750,000 buyout and Kelvin Sampson accepted, Dan Dakich then took over as interim head coach. ESPN said the other day that is sad that he did that because he had a great team while sitting tied for the Big Ten lead with Purdue and Wisconsin. He had his team well on there way to a tournament bid with good potential and possibly a Big Ten championship. They said he ruined a great thing and I agree considering his team was young and had potential to be good for not just this year or the next, but for years to come. Kelvin Sampson really messed up and he is paying for it now, while he is looking for a new job it not only is going to be had after messing up like this, but he is not going to be handed a team with the potential he lost, he will have to rebuild and create that team all over again, that is when and with whoever he gets signed.
